Summary: The boys meet a witch during a hunt on Sam's birthday. She notices they have communication problems, and casts a spell that lowers Sam's inhibitions on speaking. Dean finds out some things that his brother's been hiding from him.
The witch, Laci, hadn't known the hunters long, but she realized immediately they had some communication problems. Upon finding out that it was Sam's birthday, she decided to give him a "gift" so to speak. Laci was going to take away his inhibitions in relation to speaking for a day. She told both boys this before she cast the spell, and then vanished.
After a few hours of hilarity for Dean, things suddenly took a turn for the worst for Sam. "I hate myself," he muttered after accidentally spilling rock salt on the floor.
Dean and Cas exchanged a look. "For spilling rock salt?" questioned Dean.
"For turning darkside and letting Lucifer out," Sam replied. He sighed unhappily about the way this conversation was going. He felt extremely stupid about this now.
"What else are you thinking about in that brain of yours, Sammy?" Dean knew that his brother bottled things up, and maybe this would end up being something good.
"That you hate me and don't love me the way you used to. I get it, but it still hurts so bad. I just want everything to stop hurting so much and go back to normal". Now Sam was mortified. He never wanted to tell Dean that.
"Samuel Winchester, don't you ever think that way again. I've never hated you for the things you've done. I will always love you. Nothing can make me stop. You're my baby brother and I raised you. Yes, you've done some bad things, but I've forgiven you for them." Dean normally didn't tell Sam these things, but it was important.
"I still feel really stupid," Sam admitted. Stupid inhibition spell.
"Don't, Sammy." Dean decided to continue with the chick flick moment, and went over and hugged his little brother.
Everything was okay between the boys now.
