Summary: Dean takes care of a sunburned Sam.
Sam Winchester was in a ton of pain. He was starting to regret that shirtless game of football with his brother, but it had been fun. And hot. The sun was his downfall. He was now sunburned pretty much all over. “Ow,” he murmured as he accidentally touched his sunburned arm.
“Sammy, I’m running to the nearest store and getting some aloe. You need it.” Dean wanted to limit his brother’s pain. He couldn’t take it away, but the least Dean could do was make him feel better.
“ ‘Kay.” Sam just wanted to go to sleep, but it looked like that wasn’t happening any time soon.
Dean bolted to the Impala and drove to the nearest drugstore he could find. When he returned with the aloe, a sleeping Sam was startled awake. He had dozed off for a few minutes.
“I don’t want to stay awake,” Sam whined even as he reluctantly pulled himself up.
“Take your clothes off. You’re about to be aloe’d up,” Dean told him.
“Too tired and in way too much pain for sex,” Sam teased. He smiled at Dean.
“Shut up, Sam. No sex until you’re feeling better anyway. I can’t believe I just said that. I actually turned down sex.” Dean smiled back at his brother. He rubbed some aloe on his hands and began to spread it over Sam’s reddened skin.
“Feels really good.” Sam felt like the aloe was actually cooling him down. It was a very welcome relief from the pain.
“Don’t be this stupid again, Sammy. No more sunburns for you.” Although Sam wouldn’t die from a sunburn (probably), Dean still worried. He couldn’t lose his brother again. He wouldn’t be able to handle it.
“I won’t. And I know what you’re thinking about, Dean. I’m not dying again anytime soon. I promise.” Sam leaned over and kissed Dean.
Dean kissed him back and it soon turned into a full blown make-out session. “This is nice.” He felt better now that Sam had calmed him down. He had that effect on Dean.
“I can make it nicer.” Sam pulled away from Dean and smiled at him again.
“I told you no sex. Besides, you’re all sticky and gross from the aloe.” Dean pulled him in for yet another kiss.
Sam laughed. “I love you so much,” he murmured. He didn’t expect Dean to say it back, but he knew his brother felt the same way.
“You too,” Dean mumbled before he started to massage Sam’s back to calm down his tense younger brother. Sam let out a sigh of relief and let Dean continue. He appreciated what he was doing for him.
Dean took care of Sam for the next few days as he recovered from the painful sunburn. The younger Winchester was never in pain for very long because Dean would always rub the aloe on him and then give Sam a great massage.
Sam’s recovery went really well and he returned the favor for Dean when he was sunburned only a few weeks later.
It was the least he could do. Dean always took care of Sam, and that was something that would never change.
The Winchesters always took care of each other. That was love was about for them.
