Summary: Steve is the most infuriating person that Danny has ever met. And Danny is the most infuriating person that Steve has ever met. But somehow, their relationship works.
Steve McGarrett is the most infuriating person that Danny Williams has ever met. Steve drives him crazy. Like when he refuses to pick his clothes up off the floor and complains about Danny’s ties. Danny loves wearing his ties. It’s professional!
But then he does something sweet – Like cook Danny dinner after a particularly brutal fight with Rachel over Grace. Danny loves when Steve does that for him. Or Steve will drive them into work instead of Danny doing it all the time.
But then he insists on saying “Book em, Danno” when they’re arresting a suspect. But that’s okay. Danny loves Steve. He’s not going anywhere without his boyfriend.
Danny Williams is one of the most infuriating people that Steve has ever talked to. Who wears ties to work in Hawaii? He also hates that Danny is a little bit of a neat freak. Everything has to be in perfect order.
But then, Danny’s around Grace and he calms down so much. Grace and Danny are sweet together. And Steve loves the little girl like she was his own. Grace is an awesome little girl that he spends spending time with.
And Steve loves that “Book em, Danno” drives his boyfriend nuts sometimes. Okay, most of the time. It’s catchy and Danny just has to deal with it.
And oh yeah, Steve is in love with Danny. He may be infuriating, but he’s Danny – the best partner – work or otherwise – that he’s ever had.
Kono likes to keep asking them when they plan to get married. Steve and Danny always tell her they’re not getting married because they like their relationship the way it is now. (And Kono always claims she set them up, but Chin Ho always laughs at that. She definitely thought they’d be good together, but her plans to set them up always failed.)
“What are you doing?” Danny stared at his boyfriend as Steve got out his iPod and put on some music. Steve got like this sometimes. It was best just to go along with it.
“I want to dance with you, Danno. Isn’t it obvious?” Steve beamed at Danny and then grabbed his hand. The two began dancing around their living room.
Danny initially resisted, but gave up and started laughing. “You are seriously weird.” He tried not to laugh at the look on Steve’s face.
“You got that from Gracie, didn’t you?” Steve loved that little girl, but the things she said sometimes were a little odd. He didn’t mind, though.
“Yes, I did. But she’s right. And I don’t care that you’re weird.” Danny leaned over and kissed him. It quickly became heated and the two started making out.
“I don’t care that you’re weird either, Danno.” Steve grinned at him when they finally pulled apart and then switched to another song.
“I love you, Steve McGarrett.” Danny didn’t say it very often, but he wanted to today. He just felt like Steve needed to know.
“I love you, too.” Steve shut off the music and then led his boyfriend into their bedroom. And then annoyed Danny by turning the music back on, but he didn’t mind all that much.
Yes, Steve and Danny were infuriating, but that was okay. Nothing could touch their relationship, not even their bad habits.
And they had a lot of bad habits. Their love for one another let them see past those bad habits, however. They didn’t mean all that much in the long run, especially since they were so in love.
And Kono would always insist they were together because of her, even though her plans to set them up had failed.
